Continuous Operations in the Context od Edge Computing

Modern infrastructure and software systems are moving away from central data centers or cloud regions towards the edge of the infrastructure closer to the user. This trend results in highly distributed architecture for the software and imposes new problems and challenges for the operators of the software. Due to the large scale of these system high automation is required to ensure the software is working properly. In this thesis we introduce the concept of Continuous Operations which extends the concepts of Continuous Delivery with a feedback loop to the system itself. This allows for a continuous enforcement of the desired state of a system. To show the potentials we design and implement an architecture blueprint on Kubernetes for such a Continuous Operations System
