This study investigates the relationship between software complexity and DevOps. It both assesses the DevOps-awareness of existing complexity models and proposes a new, DevOps-aware complexity model based on the FCM approach. While no existing complexity model can be argued to be aware of all identified DevOps aspects, their validity is not considered to be fundamentally threatened with respect to their designated scope. A case study design for the validation of the discussed relation between software complexity and DevOps is provided.
