Generator for Software Configuration Web Interfaces
Customizing software by setting parameter values is an efficient approach to supply customers with a software that matches their needs, while reusing common parts which thus only have to be written and debugged once. But with a growing extent of configurability, managing the parameter values gets more and more challenging. Therefore, I present a concept for building a user interface generator which dynamically generates a software configuration web interface for a given set of parameters. I propose a hierarchical user model that enables an efficient configuration of multi-user systems. I describe a reference implementation and evaluate how well the requirements are fulfilled.
