Interactive Graphical Compute Infrastructure Cost Exploration

With the increasing and ongoing digitalization, software services play an increasingly important role in our lives. Be it the need for digital work environments for organizations or the offer of video streaming services, all these applications require not only the right software but also a suitable IT infrastructure in order to be able to exist. However, the planning of IT infrastructure is dependent on many factors, some of which are subject to uncertainties, which means that the requirements for the IT infrastructure to be procured are difficult to predict. As a result of these uncertainties, the procurement of IT infrastructure is often associated with a not inconsiderable financial risk. In order to counteract this risk, cloud infrastructure is increasingly used in the realization of software services. As part of this work, we deal with how the planning of cloud infrastructure can be supported with the help of software. Here we will develop a software prototype that will enable the user to explore and analyze cloud infrastructure and its cost composition. We will explore what information could be useful when analyzing cloud infrastructure costs and how this information can best be processed using software. Furthermore, we will deal with how the software architecture of the prototype should be designed in order to meet future requirements.
