Composing interactive views for behavior comprehension on architectural level

During the last years a software to analyze the behavior of hierarchies of software components was developed within several bachelor and master thesis in the context of the ARAMIS Project at the Software Construction Group of the RWTH in Aachen. One of the main problems is still the confusing interface, especially when many connections and components are shown at the same time. In a first step several groupings were implemented to optimize the visual representation.

The purpose of this master thesis is to further optimize the visual representation of the software. In a first step the user interface is analyzed using Human-Computer-Interactions (HCI) rules. Furthermore, similar projects from companies and other universities will be considered. In a second step previously discovered user interface optimizations will be implemented or depicted using GUI prototypes.
